blackout during color wheel changes?

Hello!
I have a few cue stacks that involve color wheel changes.Intensity is on a separate fader, so I've been trying to avoid putting a "dimmer=0" step into these stacks. Is there a good way to briefly blackout these cues during the wheel changes? Thanks for any insight!
