This isnt a perfect answer to your question, but the easiest way to do this is to invert either the pan or tilt for one of the fixtures.

I propose clicking the right hand one, press "patch"; "patch utilities"; "invert" and then "pan" will acomplish this for you.

The short answer to your question is that you can not define a shape to create a mirror effect. The shape definition is only for a single fixture.

You could however apply the shape in one direction to one set of fixtures and then apply that shape in reverse direction for the other half of the fixtures. So your next question is how do you apply the shape in the reverse direction, well I do not think you can. So you would have to create a shape that is the reverse.

The problem with invertting the channels in th patch menu is that this is applied to all memories.

I had another thought (another inelegant hack actually), which was that you could patch the fixture twice, one mirrored and use that.

Yes, I know its ugly.

You can not patch a fixture twice to the same DMX address.

Oh yes, forgot that. Wouldnt make sense at all to have two copies of a fixture.

WTF? You can't change the direction of your shape?

Of course you can! Simply push the softbutton "change direction" in the Shape Generator upon selecting your second set of heads. I am dead sure you can change it.

The mans right! Damn, why have I never seen or used that button? In fact I just spent an entire 4hour show busking directly from shape gen (unusual, but fun!!) and still don't remember seeing it. I would have used it too!

All right, I have checked it on the Simulator, and I can carry on living :D

The setting is on softbutton "F" in the Shape Generator Menu.

So I'm confused. One should expect that the Avolites crew knows their software from the head. Or am I the freak now?

OK, I hold my hand up and say that I had forgotten about that. What you have to remeber is that I deal with at least 5 different consoles as well as several software applications. That is why I will be quite often seen delving into the manual.

Thanks Vincent for correcting me on that one!
