hi,
does anyone know how you can save a time on a chase, I'm sure i've done this before but forgot. Therefore i'm having problem's when i go between the different sets of play backs on the roller page. The time resets bac to the default which means i have to reset it manually while live.
Cheers.

There is no way to auto-save.
You must save the speed when creating a chase or it will revert to 1.00s/ff ff ff.
When changing page/facet edited chase speeds are remembered until you load something new into the particular PB. Example: If you run a chase on A1-01 and change its speed then change page and pull the fader to zero you can still return to A1 and the chase on PB01 will remember the speed you last set. But if you run a chase on B1-01, then the edited speed for A1-01 is lost.
Auto-save is a good idea though. I wonder if it is possible without slowing the console? I find it useful to remember speeds too. Perhaps a user setting?

Motorola 68340. There is only one more chip above in that series that would be compatible with the same instruction set and there is too little difference to be worth it.
If it is possible I don't think all would need to be saved, only a particular chase speed that has been altered. The question would be when? Maybe when chase fader is moved to zero, or when it is disconnected?

when one rols the roller all altered chases are stored.
well i've some small experience with programming
And in my opinion it's easyer to keep the altered speed with a chase than to reset it always back to 60 bpm or 1.0s
there are 150 chase/memorys positions - 10 pages with 15 faders each.
each position has a chaser/memory assigned to it. So with the interface of the desk you choose one of those 150 chases/mems by rolling the roller and raising a fader. For example page E fader 7. The desk looks into its memory banks witch chaser is connected to E7 . andgo.
when you change the speed of E7. let it run . pull down the fader. raise E9 , pull down E9. raise E7 . the speed is still the same so it was stored somewhere already.
well the store it next to the info of what chase is on what fader. and done.
in the current way . there is an extra function programmed which puts all speeds back default mode when one change the roller.
why did they do that ?
hmm one reason is if you use your special pink-orange-cyan chase once at high speed and after two hours you decide to use it again. now you know what speed it wil be (60bpm/1.0s) with the savespeed option you would have no idea, could be way too fast or way too slow.
what about always savespeed on and pressing the avo-key + connect and faderswop button is reset to default speeds in case you expect a total mayhem of flashing lights on an easy moment .

You forgot the roller pages. There are actually 450 memories.
Each has a unique ID. It would require an extra store function to remember the new times. But I understand your idea - to store any relevant times when roller page/facet is changed. I would worry that this would cause a slight delay in currently running chases though.
I'm not familiar with the exact workings, but I think there are 15 slots for storing temporary timings. Once altered these temporary timings take precedence unless you use the 'clear temporary speeds' softbutton function. The speeds are not reset on changing page/facet, but only when you use a chase on the same PB from another page.
It is often useful to have speeds reset in this manner. That is why I suggest a user setting if indeed this is at all possible.
Over to Olie!
