Pearl 2004/2008 Midi control

Postby grisdale » 29 Sep 2014, 12:31

I'm working on a show that is programmed on a Pearl 2004 updated to 2008. We want to sort out having playbacks fired from our sound/video laptop running QLab. I only get about 20 minutes on each get-in to work on this (it's a busy show!) but have had some success so far: Midi connection is working fine, commands are accepted by the desk, have got all the cues we need plotted into cue lists in Qlab with correct delay times to match our music tracks.

However... There seem to be some issues with some cues not working when it's all played back in sequence. I think it might be a roller page change that caused the issue, but it could be just playbacks. Basically, there are a few moments where the lighting operator would normally throw up or down two playbacks at the same time, so I'm having to use two commands very close together - I think this might be where the issue is.

So, does anyone know what the minimum time between MIDI commands can be?

Other than that, if anyone has been down this road before and has any advice to share I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Gareth.
