Titanet Backup

Postby tonili » 30 Apr 2014, 10:43

Hi all,

I am trying to connect a Tiger Touch 2 running V7.4 to a Titan Mobile running V7.4 in order to have the Titan mobile as the running backup for the Tiger Tounch.

Unfortunately I am not managing to get the 2 consoles to connect and start the back up.

Any one has an idea how to get about doing this please.

Have you set the IP addresses on both making sure they are in the same subnet?

Hi,

both IPs are in the same range as well as subnets etc. I am connecting the desks via a Cross Connect cable.

Make sure there is no firewall running on the mobile.

Try opening command prompt and ping one machine from the other.

Hi Nic,

Will have to check if the Windows firewall is blocking the connection.

Since I could not find any reference to this on the manuals or on the site, this is what I am doing to connect the desks.

1. connect the Tiger Touch 2 to the PC via a cross connect cable.
2. on the Backup desk (Titan Mobile) I go to the Network settings and ensure that the network settings are the same for both desks (same I.P. range)
3. Restart the software on the back up desk
4. Go to network settings on the back up desk and choose Titanet Backup and choose the desk to back up.

Got these steps off YouTube but since they are in russian I simply tried following the button pushes.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Firewall is quite possibly the issue. Just turn it off. Ping will confirm cable and IP's are ok or not. It has also occurred to me that on the TT2 there will be two network adapters and so it is possible you could simply be connected to the wrong one. If ping fails try moving the network cable to the other port.

Hi Nic,

Will check the firewall settings and let you know what happens.

Thanks a million

You should not use a cross-over cable! It is important that you always use a Gigabit switch when using ArtNet, sACN or TitanNet. Although it may appear to work it can cause horrible side effects.
