Release mask

Hi,
i have this issue with RGB PAR LED , Rainbow shape and release mask
I have a fader playback with only Intensity for a Group of RGB par led fixtures , shared palette with some colour , static playback with only RGB channel at 0 (set in toggle mode) named RESET and a static playback with RGB Rainbow shape with relase mask set to include colour.

When I rise my intensity fader and press red palette (or any other color) I have the right looks (in this case RED) , next I fire the RAINBOW PLAYBACKS and all works right, release RAINBOW PLAYBACKS turn the fixture to red. What I want.
Now I want to have the fixture with RGB channels at 0 when release RAINBOW PLAYBACKS (no light without use intensity fader) so press RESET playback (all is ok from previous color set by using palette i have blank) next fire RAINBOW PLAYBACKS (also all works fine) but when I release RAINBOW PALYBACKS the RGB turn at 100% and not at starting value of 0 set by RESET PLAYBACK.

Create a color palette with RGB channel at 0 works correctly.
Not a big problem (I can press blank colour palette instead of RESET PLAYBACKS) but strange.

Thanks a lot
Pietro

I've tried a few times to recreate this but it always works correctly for me. Can you reproduce it consistently from a new show?

Yes, the same with a new show. Use a blank palett before rainbow shape works correctly and the release of the Rainbow shape is dark, use a playback with colour attribute at 0 I have the release of rainbow shape at full RGB.
Please see the attached file.
I think i'm wrong in something ...

Thanks a lot

Pietro

I can see it now. Not sure what I did before, maybe I set the black playback to release too which disguised the issue.

Technically this is probably as designed whereby upon firing the playback it takes over as the release values, so to speak. But this is only true while the playback is active. As soon as it is killed there is no longer anything to release to and so it uses locate values.

There may be a way to improve this in the future. But in the meantime it is probably easiest to just use palettes as you say.
