How to go from shape to focus preset p/t

Postby Erc » 30 Nov 2013, 12:22

Guys I have a question, when a Playback is running with a circle shape in p/t and I want to go to a p/t focus preset, what is the best way to do it? Do I always forst have to release the Playback before pushing the touch screens focus preset button?

And also the other way around, say I have a Focus preset p/t active and I activate a Playback with a circle shape, the circle shape is not ok because it contains some info from the focus preset....

I know it must be something simple but I just can find it ;)

thanks in advance!

In the first question I assume you are trying to fire a palette over the top of an active playback containing a shape. Normally you would kill the playback to stop the shape from running. Technically you could probably record a palette that contained position and a block shape which should temporarily override the shape in the playback, but it would be risky and an odd way of going about things. Similarly you could fire a second playback containing the position and the block shape. Normally you would do this for temporary solos.

Regarding the second question if the playback does not contain position information then it will just run the shape around the current values. If you want the positional shape to work around a specific position then you must record the position in the playback as well as the shape.
