Work Light

Is there a way to re-wire the switch for the work light on my Pearl to accept the LED Littlelite, so that when it is bright it is white and when I switch to dim it is red?
Currently the switch has a 5v and 12v line for dim/bright respectively.
I am not looking in the back of the desk right now, or fully awake, but I would presume you could make it use the 12v line on both positions with some simple mods. This assumes the littlite uses two separate 12v circuits.
If necessary you can trace back the 12v line from the XLR using these pinouts:
