include problem w/ Titan Simulator & visualizer..

Postby lightning » 04 May 2013, 06:59

a foreword.. i'm using titan simulator and visualizer only.. on a windows7 PC..
I think its an anomoly but maybe I'm wrong...

I'm using INCLUDE to bring up an existing memory to the programmer.. (my example is a magenta valley hoo using a shape)
I then hit record (by stage) to place it into a pre-existing cue list, it records everything but the intensity into the cue list... I see the shape and the correct color (the moving lights are moving around) but its visualizing/displaying it in the dark..

If I use record (quick build) and find the existing memory (magenta valley hoo) and place it in the same cue list.. it works fine..

Is this a bug with the specific light I'm using (Robe Spot 575XT) ?

On a semi related side note, I seem to be having all sorts of problems with Intensity not carrying over... For example, I build a 3 cue cue-list, Cue 1=DSL red spot, Cue 2=DSC blu spot, Cue 3=DSR green spot.. i'll use record by stage for each cue, building them sequentially like i would on a theatre console and just move them using position pallettes.. when i play them back, sometimes (at least thats how it seems at this point) only Cue 1 is lit, and the following 2 are dark.. do I have to "nudge" the dimmer everytime? It seems like its recording by channel !

Thx in advance for any input/suggestions!

after trying all forms of variations and work within cue lists i've determined them to be completely unreliable/buggy... when transitioning in/out of shapes in cue lists, theyll eventually break later in the cue list. :(

I suspect that all the issues you are encountering are related to adding new cues into a cuelist while tracking is turned off as per your other post. Certainly if I try to reproduce this on a normal forward tracking list I cannot see a problem, but with tracking off I do see the intensity disappear on the second cue when recording two cues (and then somewhat 'random' intensity results for subsequent cues, including unexpected timings). It is therefore not inconceivable that inserting an intensity cue into a non-tracking list might also result in the intensity not working even if only one cue is recorded, depending on what was in the cue that preceeds the insertion.

Assuming this is the case my advise is to ensure tracking is turned on before adding any new cues until v7.0 arrives.

As an aside it should be noted that currently shapes do not track. If you require shapes to continue uninterrupted across a number of cues you must ensure the shapes are identical and that there is no global fade for the associated cues (ie. they must snap). If you need other attributes to fade this can still be achieved by setting fades at an attribute group or individual attribute level.
