I've asked Luke these questions, but would like about Titan users' experiences...

Currently I use a MacBook Pro, with Windows 7 installed on a Bootcamp partition. The only software on Win7 is Titan 6.1, Capture Solo, Sage (for my business accounts), a program for tuning the ECU on my motorbike and Microsoft Office. Titan Simulator appears to run well, but I haven't got a console to plug in so I don't know for sure, and I've only just started to look at Titan so haven't tried busking palettes which seems to be a cause of lock-ups. I read the thread "Tital Mobile FREEZE" where niclights advised running Titan on a system with no other software installed (separate partition)...the user talked about setting up a separate user account, which obviously isn't the same thing.

Is setting up a separate user adequate (I don't see how that would prevent potential conflicts)? Also, I don't think you can create more than 1 Bootcamp partition on a Mac, to enable having 2 windows installs - anyone know if you can - I don't want to have to buy another laptop just for Titan?

Next - does anyone know of a touchscreen that works with Windows running on a Mac?

Without understanding the cause of those issues it's difficult to advise but a clean install certainly minimises risk.
My thoughts on this are that a separate account could technically be sufficient but on the basis that anything installed on the non-Titan account was for that account only (as opposed to all users). It is likely that when you installed software you didn't restrict it to an individual account and so you might have to uninstall/reinstall to achieve this. I'm not sure if there is any way to restrict Anti-Virus and driver level stuff to particular accounts.

Looking around there do seem to be ways to achieve multiple windows partitions, although it's not straightforward. Or perhaps you could have an external drive and boot from there?

I can't help but think that if you're already needing a few Windows applications that maybe it would be easier to have a separate Windows laptop and partition it instead. A horrible thing I know but at least everything would be native then.

iv used Mobile since Avo started to ship them out .. so used it with my old pc (some Dell ... full of different software.. incl other console softs... ) worked just fine .. never had a crash .. then bought new .. (huge alienware) same story .. loads of software .. incl Cad .. Wysiwyg .. AI demo .. load of games and .. NO PROBLEMS .. i guess Nic is right that it would minimize the risk .. only time i had it crashed was with damaged USB cabels.

if you MUST have a partition that is ONLY for Titan ....

Grab an external drive USB or firewire ( depending on your mac) firewire will be faster And I'm 90% sure windows will boot fine from it.. check the apple fourms first before you buy .. just in case.

No need to buy a whole machine When you use bootcamp you have a Windows machine ....... the internals are a computer all the same .
