Pearl 2008 w/ 2004 Software, License Problem

Postby Phsion » 15 Oct 2012, 20:43

Hi All, I'm trying to repair a Pearl 2008 and while trying to use AVOS to check the system software, I got the license error "Program Panel Keys Not Responding Due To Invalid License". I pulled the USB stick to look for the license file but the file isn't there, just the AVOLITES folder which contains the FIXTURES folder. Short version, do I need to license this console since it's running 2004 software, and how would I do this?

Long Version: The console is acting very buggy. The screen doesn't clear properly when changing Info Pages, its not responding when trying to patch, and the original error was an entire DMX line stopped working. All the hardware looks great, so I moved to the software side, which is when I got this error. The console's owner would like to keep the software at 2004 unless the software itself is causing the problem. Can I license the console? If not, can I get into the AVOS to check and possible re burn the 2004 software? Thanks.

First, please check check that once you have exited the AVOS and powered the console off and on again that it is still asking for a licence.

To get a licence code for the Pearl 2008 you will need submit a request via the form here. In particular you will need the console ID which is a long code made up of 16 groups of 3 digits separated by decimal points e.g. "209.071.020.225.225.351.045.112.143.041.143.124.115.137.236.181".

If the console ID is not displayed or it is asking to install the software you can download the self-extracting archive with the software from the website and extract it to a USB stick.

The console ID should be displayed on the LCD screen when the console is powered up. If it is not displayed either follow the on-screen prompts or download and install the correct firmware from here.

The serial number we be on the rear of the console, it will be up to four digits normally prefixed by PRL on a white label.
