Titan 6 Pearl Expert update problems

Postby LowlandsFreak » 14 Sep 2012, 15:12

After updating the bios the console shuts itself down because it's getting to hot.

Before the bios update there was no problem with the console.

Does anyone else have problems with this?

I installed speedfan to check the temperature and it's running at 53 degrees.

I think the calibration in bios for the temperature sensor is wrong. Because in the bios it says it's almost 70 degrees.

Yep, fan is working properly. It's now running in Titan and getting about 60 degrees, the fan is turning at about 6300 rpm.

This sounds very hot to me. Testing on an Expert here I am seeing a steady 40C under load with ambient 22C.

I wonder if the heatsink is not seated properly on the CPU any longer? I suggest you speak to service directly about this, use the 24hr phone number if necessary. I would not be happy about any processor running at those temps.

Just looked at the specs of the CPU and it can get to 100 degrees. But tomorrow I'm going to look at the heatsink. Replace the cooling past and see if it gets better.

Took off the heatsink and there was a piece of plastic in between the CPU and the heatsink.

Put some new coolingpaste between it and it runs a normal temperature.

Now to get our iiyama prolite t1731sr working again.

From my experience, you'll need the drivers from http://www.iiyama.com/gb_en/support/downloads/ (enter your touchscreen's model into the search box)

This way I got my 1931 working again, works perfectly.

I asked Olie what he says to this: albeit of course Avo doesn't recommend installing arbitrary drivers, the Iiyama Touchscreen drivers can be installed safely.

Overheating CPU

Postby JB Toby » 19 Sep 2012, 18:12

Lowlandfreak

I would like to apologize on behalf of Avolites regarding this issue.

We have procedures in place to make sure protective film is removed, clearly they have broken down in production.

Can you send me the serial number of the console so I can trace back which operators need more training.
