Titan loses its saved playback mode
When i change the mode of a playback, say to mode2, and save the show. Quite often when i power the desk back up for the next day, the playback goes back to mode0 but says its in mode 2. i then have to go through my playbacks and re-sellect mode to for it to be active again.
Is anybody else having this problem?

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
After restarting a show, a Mode 2 playback responds as a mode 0 playback but says its in Mode 2. After recycling through the Modes and re assigning it back to mode 2 it responds properly.

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
oh im using Tv6.2 on Tiger touch but have experienced it in both Tv5 and Tv6
Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
I've looked at this again but I'm still unable to reproduce. These are the steps I used:
So there must be more to it. If possible please try the above. If it does not work for you then perhaps this is something specific to the TT. Otherwise please see if you can identify any missing steps. In order to have a chance of fixing we really need a consistent way to repeat.
- (Pearl Expert running 6.1 release)
- New show
- Patch 1x Varilite VL2500 Spot, 22 DMX
- Visualise
- Record dimmer @ full by channel on playback fader 1
- Lift playback 1
- Clear
- Record magenta @ 100% by channel on playback fader 2
- [Edit Times]/<playback 2>/toggle to mode 2
- Exit
- Locate fixture (to set magenta to zero)
- Clear
- Raise playback 2 and confirm it fades magenta in/out by fader
- Power cycle console
- Lift playback 1
- Raise playback 2
= controls magenta as expected.

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
That's the way i would do it.
Ive had it on a Titan mobile as well.

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
It would be useful if you could try those exact steps and confirm that it definitely happens consistently.
Though not entirely impossible it is very unusual to have differences between console types. Given that I cannot reproduce this on an expert I would like to be as certain as possible it is occuring for you on a TT specifically (and TM if confirmed separately) before entering into the database. Otherwise it is likely to just get rejected.

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
I just ran into this as well for the first time (that I can remember). I recorded a cue with intensity and a dimmer effect in it. The catch is that I recorded it into a fader that already had cue information in it, but it was in fader mode 2. I simply replaced all of the new information with the old information. But, this problem came up.
I went into the cue timing to double check that it was in fader mode 2 and it was, but it was acting like it was in fader mode 0 (the effect was snapping in while the intensity was fading up as I lifted the fader).

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
Looks like a bug. I am able to repeat this although I would suggest it is separate to the original issue. This appears to be specific to merge or replace shapes. Merge or replace values work correctly with the assigned mode.
Note that for shape cues you would normally use [playback options]/[shape size fixed/on fader]/[shape and effect speed fixed/on fader] unless you specifically wanted to fade other attributes at the same time. The merge/replace issue does not occur when using the playback options either.
I will get this in the database if it hasn't already been fixed.

Same problem on v5 pearl expert for me...
very annoing...

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
There is no point in reporting faults from previous versions. Every build contains many fixes and is why it is important to keep up-to-date.
If you are talking about the merge/replace shapes then I have confirmed this so there is no need to report it. If you are referring to the issue from the OP then I have yet to see this so we still need some consistent steps to repeat in 6.1 or I cannot enter it.

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
Hi Nic
Sorry been busy out on festivals this summer and now i have time to breath for a bit.
I have tried your walkthrough and it works correctly from scratch (new show). There must be something i do after a bit of programming that causes this to happen. Without me cycling power after everything i do im not too sure if i can figure out what causes it.

Re: Titan loses its saved playback mode
Ok, a possible explanation for the issue has been brought to my attention.
This specifically relates to shapes and the bug is actually the opposite of what you might think.
Fade mode should not affect shapes in playbacks any longer. Instead, shape fading is switched via [Playback Options] and fade mode affects attribute values only. This is useful as it means you can have a fader control attributes without affecting a shape should you wish. It also prevents the potential conflict that could occur if you applied both mode 2 and enabled shape fading in playback options.
The bug is that if you toggle a playback mode during a session it incorrectly affects contained shapes. Loading (including power cycle/software restart) fixes this.
If you have seen the problem without shapes then it must be a different issue, otherwise I suspect this is the behaviour you are seeing. Unfortunately this is not fixed in version 7.0. However, as long as you ensure that you use playback options to control shape fading you won't normally be affected. The only time it would be a problem is if you specifically wanted a fader to fade an attribute independantly of a shape that you wanted to be unaffected. In that case you will need to save/load before it stops controlling the shape.

Arrrrrrrrrrr!!!! That actually makes sense.
Ill have to remember to change my style of programming next time.
I look forward to v7.1
Many Thanks for getting to the bottom of this
