Hello,

Today I’ve been trying to establish a connection between the coolux media server and the titan software (on a pearl expert with touch wing).
Coolux supports the CITP protocol for thumbnail exchange, just like the avolites titan.

However I tried to patch the media server as an active fixture, like described in the manual.
When I open the DMX settings menu and look under Art-Net I should see the media server with its matching IP address, but nothing is there.

The console and media server are both in the right IP range and subnet mask.

I can change the tcp port for tumbnail exchange in the media server, but which port is used by avolites?

Someone knows what the problem can be?

Whilst I am already in private conference with Jaco (and the outcome will be posted here, I assure you), here are some basic steps. Please know that this is about Coolux Pandoras Box Player which is what Jaco is using, and what I already had successfully been controlling via CITP.

1. make sure controlling it via ArtNet works (Coolux requires a network in the 2.x.x.x range). Make sure ArtNet is enabled in Coolux, channels and universes are assigned and enabled.
2. the CitpFixtureMapping.xml needs a little tweaking (will be included in the official download as soon as the tests are done). Restart the console software after this.
3. try patching it as active fixture, it should at least show up as active fixture by now.
4. within coolux, enable thumbnails. Further, label all your imported footages with IDs (1...x)
5. now, when patched as Active Fixture, and after selecting the fixture and opening the Attribute Editor window, you should be able to see the thumbnails

Yes, I know, there is the need for some better Howto - as usual, when two separate systems should talk to each other, there are always bits and pieces. It's on the list

One of the many things: Coolux comes with very basic layers - and you can assign effects per layer as required. I chose to assign RGB mix for every layer as one effect. You should do so if you want to make use of the colour picker in the desk.
