Is this possible? Any help is appreciated.

I have an Azure 2000 at church. We are wanting to program some of our LED cans to do the following: record colors on playback buttons and the dimmer (intensity) on a fader. I cannot seem to figure out how to do this.
I'm a bit confused on "record by fixture" and "record by channel". Also, I cannot seem to fine where the recording modes 0-2 are explained.
Any help on these issues would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

Record By... -> manual page 26, section 5.3, or page 69, section 5.2
Memory Modes... -> page 72, section 5.6
In your case, it depends from the fixtures - whether they feature a separate dimmer channel or not.
If yes:
- CLEAR
- select fixtures
- bring dimmer to full
- record a memory on fader, using record by channel
Now you have recoeded the dimmer fader.
- CLEAR
- bring up the fader
- select the fixtures again
- set the colour
- record a memory button, again using record by channel
Now you have recorded a colour cue, without dimmer. Repeat this for more colours. Alternatively, make yourself familoiar with palettes - there is a good chance colour palettes are already there for these lamps.
Now the hard thing - if no dimmer channels on the fixtures: in that case, it depends from how the colour channels are treated.
- if patched as RGB-HTP, it's more like program lots of dimmer/colour faders
- if patches as RGB-LTP, try setting those memories to mode 2 -- but make sure to have some 'default' memories somewhere in reach, like black.

Yes...the lights have a dimmer channel. I tried to record as you had said previously, with no luck. I brought the dimmer up to 100%, with no values on the RGB channels. I assigned it to a fader. Then I created a color using the RGB channels, leaving the dimmer at 0% and recorded it to a playback button. When i press the button for the color...the adjusting the dimmer, nothing happened.
What record mode do I need to be in? Mode 0, 1 or 2? I don't really know what the different modes even do. I'm semi-seasoned on programming this board....but I'm obviously no expert.
Thanks for all of your help!!
