"Sorry, no more room" and other fun problems

Pearl Expert 2008 - the console is in a club/venue
It's decided to start giving a "Sorry, no more room" error when recording palettes. I can get around this (only on certain fixtures) by doing palettes ONE fixture at a time - although this is annoying. I can no longer update positions, or adjust/tweak certain values if needed. It has been doing this for about a month.
It recently started to begin lagging in releasing flashed playbacks, and when you raise the fader it is now telling all RUNNING FX (color fx, movement, whatever) to stop. I can restart these FX by pressing the EXIT and CLEAR hardkeys, then resetting that fader (down to 0, up to full).
It also won't let me patch certain fixtures, which it has had no problem patching in the past.
Sometimes when you run in NORMAL mode, and flash the SWOP's, one will latch and not release. The only way to clear this is to restart the console.
Before this all started, I turned the desk on once, and it said there was 999% free space - I ran the recovery CD and then these problems started to develop.
Any ideas? I literally reset the console 4-5 times a night and that's really annoying and 100% unnecessary. I have contacted AVO already... but it's been a while so I'm posting here.
