Protection antivirus TIger Touch

It is necessary to install any antivirus in the tiger touch console or already comes with some protection of manufactures when a pen USB drive is connected. If not bring protection of manufactures is necessary to protect it with an antivirus

No, you do not need to - and should not - install any kind of external program onto the console.

But dont you think it needs protection as its a windows based console

The threat of viruses comes from installing and executing foreign files (on any operating system) and you should have no reason to install anything other than the Avolites software on the console. Therefore in my opinion there is no risk. But running AV software on a lighting console might easily cause performance issues.

Well, good question - but the tradeoffs should be watched, too. Personally, I'd prefer such a scanner for the USB connections. Heck, down to the bottom line, it's Window$. But then, this scanner should fullfill some other requirements, too:
- must not interfer with Titan. Neither with the software, nor with the hardware/drivers, nor in consuming computing power
- must somehow be up-to-date
- sources/hooks must be documented to Avolites, so that they could cross-check prerequisite #1 (not to mention: who will pay for that?)
Almost undoable.
Actually, I am looking into some AV scanners which by definition/design scan only connected USB drives. No recommendations yet. First impression: connecting a 16G drive is a bad idea... so: not a perfect solution, either.
Very finally, it falls back to:
- keep all your systems clean
- have a clean/checked USB drive ready along with your desk
- don't install additional software (if you do, it's your own risk)
- know about the firewall settings. Sometimes it's necessary to tweak them a bit - but totally disabling it is strongly discouraged
And: Windows embedded is not bullet-proof, but much proofer than its desktop siblings, since it lacks some of the hooks the garbage usually needs as entry point. Haven't heard of any infected Maxedia (which runs the same OS). Would be interesting to know if anyone really detected a virus on his desk (hey repairs@avo, what's your experience?)
