I am 100% new to avolites and the pearl 2004 simulator! I a, using the simulator to learn how to use ther Pearl 2004 because our establishment will be upgrading the light control system, currently we use Chamsys Magic Q PC running from a PC with the ENTTEC DMX USB PRO. Can we use the ENTTEC box with the 2004 Simulator because as yet I have found no solution.

No. The simulator cannot output DMX. Currently the options for PC based control are Titan Mobile or D4 Desktop.

Ok, is there any way I can simulate a rig? Like a piece of software where I can create something virtual? I just want to get some experience using the Pearl

Avolites Visualiser is free and works with the Sim. It's just wireframe but does the job. Is fine for learning the console.

The Simulator can also communicate with 3rd party visualisers such as ESP Vision, WYSIWYG, Capture or Light Converse via ACDI but you only need these if you want more realistic simulation.

One more question. How do you link the two programs?

Select the 'run' and 'simulator' radio buttons on the left in visualiser. That's all.

You will need to manually patch fixtures in Vis in order to see anything though. The Vis manual should hopefully explain this.
