Tracking mode on Pearl expert Titan

Postby chonchon » 23 Feb 2011, 15:17

Hi, I'm Chonchon from France (please excuse my English)

We've received our new Expert with touch wing yesterday and I'm very surprised not to find any "tracking mode" in the manual nor in the console.
Is it me or there is no such mode?

I'm also surprised that nobody notices that on the forum or in the wish list.

Actually I use this mode to make follow effects or "launch" effects (with mirror head) with Pearl 2004 with graphic tablet and I will start on the road soon with Expert:
Is there an another way to do it with the touch wing?

Thanx

Hi ChonChon,

Actually there is a tracking mode. When you create a cue list (instead of chase), tracking mode is default. In the new v4 software there is a new option to turn OFF tracking.

So your "launch" effect (fly out I think?) is easily produced via cuelist, and with individual attribute timing you can actually produce very cool effects.

Actually, I read that as in the tracking function from the Classic consoles where you would define four corners of a stage and then get fixtures point at specific places on the stage using the graphics tablet. For example as a follow-spot.

Then there's tracking backup....

Can get confusing!

All features to come I'm sure.

Yes, my point is to have a follow spot with any fixture and my "launch effect" is made with the nudge function of the graphic tablet by"zipping" the pen.
With mirror heads it's very interesting, like random moves that you can control or pan/tilt chases in wich you control speed and directions (not only fly-out or swing) with the pen.
That tracking mode can't be replaced by the cue list one.
I hope it will be soon increased in Titan.
