One of our consoles (Pearl 2004) cannot start, the LCD display is lit but nothing appears, inside the desk the LED display shows the message "1.1J" and freezes. I tried to exchange the GAL's and flash rom's with the ones of another Pearl 2004, one by one, but no success. Voltages +12, +5 and -12 are OK. Can somebody please help me? Thanks.

This is the reply I got from our service team:

1.1J is related to the ST90 chip located on the motherboard, in most cases it just needs to be reseated. Worst case take the chip out of its socket and resolder the socket from underneath.

Note that on Boris3 motherboards this chip is surface mounted so really you can only try cleaning the chip with some meths and a small brush
