I've got a strange problem that the manuals can't seem to fix. I'm working on a Tiger and have (for instance) a memory attached to the roller at A1 that is only controlling some dimmers.

I also have another memory attached to B1 of my roller (both memories are on the same roller page) sending out only color information to my scans.

Problem is that if I fade in memory A1, then switch to the B-deck of my roller, and then want to activate memory B1 (while A1 should remain active) the output is that memory A1 is faded out (thus responding to me lowering the playback fader) and B1 is then activated.

I'd really like A1 to remain active when I switch to the B-deck. The manual states that this should be standard behaviour. Is there some kind of User Setting that should be changed.

It is possible I have misunderstood you, but to clarify it is not possible to run more than one playback off the same fader. Or perhaps another way to put it is there is a maximum of 10 simultaneous (or 15 with wing).

A playback running from roller facet A will continue to run when you change to roller facet B, but in order to fire a playback on the same handle from B you must first kill the one that is running from A.

If I cannot use more than 10 memories at the same time, is there some kind of work around or trick that I can use to store both dimmer and fixture chases to work simultaneously?

I could imagine that one way to achieve this is to 'divide' de roller into a left and right side, having dimmer memories/chases on one side and scanner memories/chases on the other. That way a dimmer chase on A1 is just replaced by another on B1.

Or to program the table in such a manner that I can use my dimmer channel groups from one preset fader.

Oh well, it just goes to show that it's not the console that cannot do something, it's always the operator that just has to learn new tricks.

Only you can decide really. The console gives you lots of options and you can tailor it to your requirements. Of course flexibility comes at the cost of complexity. However, as said elsewhere use palettes wherever possible for maximum potential.

Have you considered buying a wing? This gives you another 5.

I HAVE actually considered that and giving the fact that I'd like to use the console to its full potential I think that buying a wing is 'just around the corner'.
