Chases restarting from step one has never been a big issue for me and I've never heard anyone mention it either. The only reason I have requested is just to avoid repetitiveness if constantly stop/starting, probably via flash.
Perhaps you should consider using cuelists instead of chases?
I'm confused since your topic was about Titan but then you mentioned Tiger. Classic only supports cuelists in the form of Theatre Stack mode but Titan on Pearl Expert or Tiger Touch has them as an option from the record chase function key (quickest route is to press it twice).
There are two important differences between cuelists and chases I can think of:
Firstly cuelists are tracking, which essentially makes adjustment/editing of large lists very easy if they are programmed correctly.
Secondly, you cannot connect wheels to speed/xfade with linked steps.
As far as I can see, neither of these should be a problem for your application.
When using cuelists the fader only masters intensity. It will not kill the list unless you set the playback option 'kill at zero'. As default you kill with shift+blue key. You can still setup the key profiles as described earlier. In fact it might easier since you probably will always want a key for 'go'. Personally I use profiles where blue keys for chases are tap tempo and blue keys for cuelists are go. That means I can still use flash and if I really want a solo function I will override it via playback options.
Hopefully that solves your problem, assuming you are on a Titan console?
I'm afraid to say I still don't understand the ltp trigger function from your description. I haven't visited any venues where the house board is a Frog and so I have not had any reason to learn them. I am not going to argue benefits of one console over another here. It is pointless. But it is useful to explore other console features and either find solutions or see if there are good ideas for future development.
