For instance, I select fixtures and I want them to go blue in 5 seconds.
On the old ones we select the fixtures imput the time in seconds on the pad, and press the add button that has the pallete we want!
how do we do it on the new D4's???????????

You can use timed palettes just like the pearl, the only difference is that you press softkey B first before inputting a time.
Also, on the D4 you can apply a palette so that it is overlapped from one fixture to the next. To do this, press softkey A in the timed palette menu and enter the percentage of overlap you want.
Fixture overlap offsets when each fixture will start to move. At 50% overlap, for instance, a fixture will start to fade when the previous fixture has got 50% of the way through it's fade. You can use this to busk complex looking fan effects.
