Snapshots, LoTP

A couple of things I've been wondering about but haven't been able to figure out... Maybe some of you can give me a clue. :) The questions are meant generally, but I mostly work on Pearl 2000 and 2004.

*Is it possible to fade into a snapshot? HTP levels, at least. I have not found a way of loading one that doesn't snap to it, apart from saving it on a playback fader.

*Can I make a LoTP fader (a limiting submaster) for a group of dimmer channels? I recently tried having a group of parcans running a shape on a mode 2 playback fader. However, I would have to run them at full intensity (static size, timed speed). (Either that, or timed size as well, but then a slow shape would have to be dim as well...) What I'm looking for is a way to limit the max output of a mode 2 shape on dimmer channels.

Don't know about snapshot.

I understand the problems with mode2 and dimmer shapes but if you just want to limit intensity then why not program smaller size?

Well, part of the point with mode 2 would be to busk and not knowing what anyone will do in advance... :) Also there would be (as with timed size) a way to fade in a shape rather than snap large part of the ceiling on to full.

If it helps at all you can have timed fades as well as (or instead of) fade by fader.

Personally I never use dimmer shapes because of this limitation. I will always program chases.
