Tiger questions

Hi all,

I'm the proud new owner of a Tiger. I've used pearls before and also own an azure, but there are a few things I can't work out.

When select some fixtures and hit an attribute button, it lights up. If i press the same button again, it starts to flash, but the control seems exactly the same but possibly slower - does it turn off wheel acceleration or seomthing?

Next q... I've made a USB stick of the personalities I actually use regularly, Ive named the stick 'DrewAVO' in windows, yet the desk shows this as '%m'. Not an issue, I just like to name stuff!

I tried to search the forums but couldnt see anyone post the q before, so any help would be grand.

Cheers all!

Attribute toggle switches between two wheel speed modes. These are definable via [shift] + numeric key 1/2 respectively. Wheel acceleration can be toggled separately via user settings.

In pre 2004 software builds, the attribute toggle was only available for pan/tilt to give fine/coarse adjustment.

I can't help you with the device name, sorry!

Many thanks nic, I had suspected it was something like that. I knew the P/T flashed to gain the fine mode (16bit) and this is what I'm used to in pearls I use as a freelancer and my own Azure.

Regarding the usb drive - I'm going to try re-formatting my usb sticks or trying different ones tomorrow. The ones I'm using are all 128meg freebies from a conference (box of 72 as swag) and may be formatted oddly from a duplicator.

I'll post if I have any success.

So, as suspected, I used windows to re-format my USB stick and typed in the name for the volume label there, and it renamed it on the desk. I now notice a much faster 'resetting devices' screen on selection of 'Choose a Fixture'

I suspect you had your USB stick formatted as NTFS which uses a different name. So when you set the name in Windows it does not show up. When you reformatted and set a label it would set both names for the drive and so works.

I think if you format the stick as FAT32 then it will work when you rename it in Windows.

Just a quick comment as reference for others...

The usb stick was formatted in FAT, with no 'label'. I set the label using windows but this did not work on the pearl. Re-formatting as FAT using windows and setting the label at this time worked.
