Pearl is not showing values above Wheels. When personality was first loaded they were there, but after powering down and then reopening show they were gone. This goes for intelligent and raw values

I'm afraid that sounds like corrupt show. I've seen similar effects when loading personalities from bad disks. Try reverting to older show if possible.

Don't think this is a corrupt show file. Did wipe all and started a new show with the same results.

Are you patching from same disk? An associated symptom of corrupt personality file will be no auto-increment of address after patching.

Yes I have used the same disc I originally loaded. But I have also downloaded a new copy and still nothing in the display. I have looked at the file in notepad and it looks right. Have also loaded it in the Simulator and it works there.

Tricky. It might not make much sense but you could try formatting a floppy within the console and then do another version of revelant aps disk onto that.

As an afterthought I wonder if this could happen if the disk doesn't contain sg.dat?

I always format my discs in the console. As for the other item you mentioned, sg.dat. I know not

The aps disks all contain sg.dat. So if you just copy the relevant one to floppy then that's covered, but if you are placing only the Arkaos r20 file onto the disk then it might be a problem.

Straw clutching though. All I can say is I think this is caused by faulty personality file/disk, not console/software and would be trying other floppies.

Ok I have read this and need an answer to a few questions. The first one is which console are you using? I am assuming it is a pearl 2004. Also I would like to know whether its a specific personality or whether the same thing happens no matter what disk you use.

The above information would help me find the root of the problems and solve it.

The Console is a Pearl 2000, updated to 2004. It happens with all files I've tried. But the file did work for one session.

Have you tried using different floppy disks? This does not sound like a personality problem but might be that the floppy disk is damaged in some way.

Have you tried patching off the cache personalities?

let me know how you get on

I formated the discs in the console. Have tried several. Built cache file
and tried that. I have also put the .r20 on a disc. One thing I just noticed is that I have Bus errors. And they are video related.

Have you tried clearing the errors? I think is <enter> on the bus errors screen. The video part may be misleading.

The only time I've seen similar behaviour was on a 2000 running 2004 and put it down to old floppy drive having difficulty reading the files properly.

Another thing you could try is hard wipeall (jumper on motherboard) or restart soft from AVOS - Power off, key to program, hold Add buttons 21 and 30 while powering. This should bring up the AVOS. Then select start system. Also check all connections, reseat video card and make sure all IC's are seated. Not that I'm conviced by any of these ideas!
