Suggestion of software to use for a Pearl 2000

Hi,

We've got a Pearl 2000 (with all the prereqs for the new 2004 software) and I'm wondering what the best software version to use is.
I myself am new to the Pearl. I've already played with the Simulator and with the Pearl itself, so I'm starting to get comfortable with it. But before I start going further with I'm looking for experiences of other people with their choice.

We mostly will be using the Pearl for one off events (mostly parties, dance events and some times live performances).
