Pearl 2008 + Pearl Tiger patching issues

Hi all,
In the last couple of weeks I have had 3 different consoles from different companies that all had the same fault.
Basically when patching fixtures from Thomas and Martin (using the AVO cache files) the console did not then display them in fixture patch. The handles they were assigned to were blank.
Dimmers showed up fine however.
Also this caused issues regarding the M.L. menu as I could not locate any of the fixtures or lamp on/ lamp off from the desk.
The attributes for each type of fixture were also not shown, as the desk just displayed the defaults as labelled on the desk.
Further to this the usual shape files were not all working, i.e. circle worked for the moving heads but pan saw etc. did not.
There were similar problems with the LED's aswell.
Is this a known bug?

I have seen the same behaviour on older consoles and assumed it was bad floppy disks (or drive!). Certainly something wrong with the personalities or the way they are read.

The obvious symptom was the DMX would not automatically increment for each additional fixture as expected.

For now I suggest downloading new versions and patch from them instead of cache. See if that helps.

Hopefully someone can help more with this.

The symptoms you describe are definitely symptoms of corrupted personality files. Where you always patching from the same disk?
