Soft patching Mac 700's on Pearl 2004

Postby lucasdp08 » 22 Aug 2008, 22:38

So here is the problem I have soft patched the 700's onto 8 separate handles, but when I go to select them individually they don't work. If I select channel 1 I get all 8, but nothing happens if I select the individually. I have done two wipe all's and still the same problem. Please Help.

Can you please explain in more detail?

Are you saying that when you press the swop button for the first handle, all the other handles select? That would be very strange. (by select I mean the handle LED illuminates with the LED's in fixture mode - [shift]/softkey A toggles mode).

When I patch each individual led per channel comes on, so it acts like it's patching to individual channels but somehow it has dumped them all on channel 1.

When you patch a fixture does the DMX automatically increment to what should be the next address?

ie. starting from wipeall and patching 700 profile standard to DMXA001, does it present 024 as the next available address or does it remain as 001?

Yes, it automatically brings up the next address in the chain.

What does it show if you change LCD view to Fixture Patch? Do you see Handle 1 - Mac 700 - A1, Handle 2 - Mac 700 - A24 etc?

If so, try changing to view DMX Patch and adjust some values for the fixture on handle 1. Does it correctly increase the DMX values on related channels only (ie. in range 1-24)?

I'm guessing you've already checked the DMX addresses of the units?
