Battery on a Boris 1 Explodes on older 1997 pearl 2000

After preforming wip all with a 1221 on LED display, then tried to reload the AVO, after move the jumper to the AVO load postion, no reponse then loud elposion of the battery after 5 mins,, any comments of thoery ofexplosion,, and yes the power supply was set at the correct voltage. Any info would be appreciatted. :( :([/b]

Was is really the battery exploding? If it would be my guess I would say a capacitor blew up. I've seen it happen a few times now, not on lighting consoles though. The pieces used in PC hardware aren't of very good quality and they more than once start leaking or just blow up without any reason.

Witnessed it first hand a couple of years ago when I turned on my computer at work. A loud whistle followed by a bang and that was the end of the power supply. If it is the power supply, you can just replace it and the rest of the console will probably be fine.

no it was the battery i will post a pic of battery also we replaced the battery 8 months ago with no problems and yes the polarity was correct Image and board Image[/img]
