Shape Generator, too fast and shaky, cant get a smooth shape

Postby Billyserious » 03 Aug 2008, 08:41

Hey there, Im a returning Avo user now on a Tiger. Im running 8 kryptons and everytime I try and apply a shape like Circle 1, they will kind of just pan and tilt in a seemingly random very fast and very tight way.

I try to adjust size and speed, and it seems to have very little effect. Still very shaky and obvious.

I seem to remember it being very easy with my previous Pearl, on mac 500's, just apply a shape and it got nice and slow and smooth. Is it a setting on the kryptons themselves that could be causing the issue? Am I missing something obvious?

On a side note, the same happened when I tried dimmer shapes, just kinda jerky random flashing. When I applied any other kind of shape (diamond, square) The fixtures did nothing.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Do you have the fixtures set to the correct mode for the personality you are using?

I can only think that there is something wrong with the shapefile.

Try loading a new one. Easiest way is probably to download any aps disk and extract the sg.dat file. Place on a stick and use 'load new shape file' function from system menu (hopefully it is still there and reads the file from usb ok!)

Do a quick soft reset of desk after loading and see if it solves.

Fixed.

Solution was just to load a new shape file from the actual console memory. Apparently it wasnt loaded right out of the box. Everything now works fine, thanks for the info!
