here's a eg.
i have a rig with 12 spots 12 scans & 12 washes. my first memory has 12 spots , 12 scans on and some conventional cues too.
in my second memory(on fade up) i need to have 12 washes on and only 4 spots on along.

i find this feature necessary when we programe by channel.

is there a way to change the dimmer to ltp without having to tamper the fixture personality file?
can it be done on the console.

No, there is no way in the console.

I would just manually fade the first out while fading in the second. I don't really see how it is related to record by channel.

Inverting faders....

Postby Szieve » 16 Feb 2009, 11:49

Well, if you own the desk, and this is something you do on a regular basis, why not just take the fader out and turn it upside down? Alternatively, From what I can gather, you're using this technique for followspotting with heads? Hmmm wouldn't it just be more efficent to use tracking and the g-tablet?

[quote="(iCe)"]Still the question remains: what would you need the dimmer 0->100 and 100->0 for?

I can see how this would be used, and would love to be able to make it work.

With my current band, I use leko specials alot on the playbacks, often at different intensities, It would be sweet to have a separate fader that would take all the lekos to zero and back to use for blackouts or if I want to drop the front light out for a second and then return to the previous state.

Just sayin'.

This thread's quite old now. Using Titan it might be possible soon:

Although to function as per your example it would be important that the intensities return after lowering the higher priority fader.

Is it possible to program a total black out, with all HTP channels included? And then for Titan...

The grandmaster fader isn`t fast enough for some things, so it would be great if you can program it on a flashbutton...

You can do this in a couple of ways.

You can program a mode 3 playback which will force everything else to zero. If you program one fixture into a playback with an intensity value of 0%, then make that playback into a mode 3 through 'edit times', and give it higher priority than everything else in 'playback options', then everytime you use the playback it will force everything else to black. However, you will need to fire another playback in order to get some intensity onstage - it will not release back to the previous look.

For a temporary or "flash" blackout, you can use a dimmer set to a very low/unnoticable value, set this to a high priority again, to make sure it will always override lower priority playbacks, then use the solo button to flash a blackout onto stage. However, using the fader will not force the stage to black.
