Ability to hook Pearl Expert Wing to Tiger Touch (or MIDI)?

Hi all,

Need a quick answer on this and am based in the US so can't call Avo - - can I hook a pearl expert wing up to the tiger touch? Also is it possible to hook a MIDI controller keyboard or drum machine for example to the tiger touch like on a GrandMA? Thanks!!

(1) No, you cannot connect the PExp wing to the TiTo.

(2) Yes, you can use any external MIDI board as trigger - as long as it outputs MIDI via the good ol' MIDI connectors. MIDI over USB is not supported.

Ah Copy that...! Would I be able to hook up an external monitor touch screen to the TiTo in lieu of using the wing to trigger palettes?

Also any controllers you rec with MIDI connections? Most I see are USB. Thanks!!!!

- exiternal touchscreen: yes. As far as I know, the ELO drivers are now compiled in v7, whereas for the previously recommended Iiyama 19" displays seperate drivers are required, which is not exactly recommended by Avolites (but then, those displays were recommended in the past...). Please know that multitouch doesn't work.
- MIDI controllers: personally, i use the Behringer BCF-2000 - I like the faders. However, if you simply need some more buttons, soma plain pad controllers (probably some AKAI things) will do. I also saw someone using a real MIDI keyboard - with piano keys, which he neatly labelled
As for controllers which do not featuire the 5pin MIDI connector, I already had the idea to use a seperate USB to MIDI converter, and Bourne's MIDI translator. A bit of overkill, but I guess it will do...

The best touchscreens to use would be those designed to work with Windows Touch which was introduced with Windows 7. Such touchscreens will work without having to install any additional drivers and the configuration tools ('Tablet PC Setup' and 'Pen and Touch') are included in Control Panel on the consoles (note that the tool icons won't appear unless a compatible touchscreen is detected). In most cases you will need to configure the touchscreen to correct monitor so that the touch moves the mouse to the correct place, this can be done in the 'Tablet PC Setup' in Control Panel.
