Another Sapphire Touch/Titan question

Postby David Boots » 18 Oct 2012, 13:59

I'm probably just overlooking something but on Avo classics if you bring up a submaster fader and then change pages that sub would stay active until you lowered it.. on the Sapphire Touch lowering the fader does nothing and I have to go to the active playbacks window to release the cue.. this is very annoying.. what am I missing here.
Thanks

I think there should be a user setting?

Not many people have the ST yet!

Anyway, word on the street is it is under user settings as [active playbacks held over]/[active playbacks not held over]. You want 'not held over'.

Thanks for the reply.
I just thought it might be a Titan in general thing.. I have the console set for playbacks not held over but it doesn't do anything..

The option is currently only available for ST because it is the only console with the motorised faders that make held over playbacks practical.

Unfortunately I don't have a console here at the moment and there is no simulator to test with either. I will forward this to see if someone else can help.

For the Sapphire Touch to handle playbacks in the same way as other Titan, and indeed classic, desks you should set the option to "Held Over". This refers to the playback being held on the fader when the page is changed. You may need to kill your playbacks and re-fire them for the change to take effect.

The active playback held over/not held over doesn't seem to do anything.. So far the best workaround I have come up with is to put a generic cue up on one of the top faders and go to that while I change pages.. unfortunately our show changes daily and they don't waste any time going from one song to the next, so quite often they have to start the song in the dark!!... my next option is to rearrange the playbacks every show to put them in order which will actually be pretty easy to do with the ST's "move" function.. it's a handy button :D

Also as a minor problem, isn't the track ball supposed to light up? Ours doesn't.

Please note that the held over setting is stored as part of the show file so when you load a different show or start a new show the setting will be changed to the one stored in the show file.

The colour change feature of the trackball has not currently been implemented in the software. This may be enabled for certain functions in future versions.

The held over setting is now working! I don't know why.. I didn't do anything different.. but I am very happy now! :D :D

Thanks for all the input.. too bad I only have 5 more shows on this console then Ill have to wait until next year to get my hands on it again :(
