Dmx triggers only triggering playbacks on current page

So i successfully used dmx in to trigger playbacks today, however some head scratching afterwards! I could only trigger control playbacks that were active on the current page on the tiger touch. So this isnt any gain really. Am i doing something wrong, i expected to be able to attach a dmx trigger to a playback and then change page so external dmx device would control playbacks on the not current page or at least would control the level of a playback in the playback window.
My expectation of having dmx / midi triggers was to gain a few extra faders for key lights and free up more playbacks for movers / heavier operations.
Is there something very obvious i m missing here or does this work on midi?
Does the desk support usb midi devices and if not is it something that it will in the future? It would be very helpful to have plug and play midi support just like in visual software like resolume or modul 8 where u can plug in a midi device into usb and start mapping triggers just like with dmx in on the desk.

You should be able to do this with trigger type = item.

Sorry about the stupid post, got it working, i guess the manual is a bit short on info on all this, eventually found it in the forum, thanks for the reply Nick
