Postby frontal » 08 Sep 2012, 09:41

What can I do? The screen just says "Dongle not found!" when starting my Tiger Touch with V6...

After consulting with a super-helpfull rep from Avolites :-), I removed the dongle from the inside of the desk (mounted at the hub), and connected it to the outside of the desk. Tiger booted.

This is not a solved case as I see it, since I would like to have the dongle located at the inside as usuall.
Any tips on how to proceed is appreciated.

Thanks,
Kurt

Kurt,

can you please elaborate where exactly the dongle was located inside? In the beginning, it was located on that frame directly atop the motherboard - and one year ago an ECN was published which recommended the dongle relocated to the hub, which is still internal, but really makes a difference:

http://support.avolites.com/avo/support ... N-0191.pdf

From a totally different job and hardware I know this is timing during the boot sequence: the hub - and connected ports - are initialized somewhat later than the ports which are directly at the motherboard.

Hence, if the dongle was located atop the motherboard, I'd say you can proceed as described in the ECN. But if the dongle was located at the hub besides the motherboard, then this needs to be followed up.

I will take a picture of the inside, but the desk is in use at a festival Right now.
The dongle was placed at the number 6 position on the "hub" on Top of the MB...

Wow - then this needs definitely be followed up. Can you please raise this with Avolites directly? software, or Adam, would be good starting points. or Nic, can you jump in and pull some strings?

I have been looking at ECN-0191 now, and my dongle was actually placed where this fix suggested as a fix...so this has to be addressed further.

I tried to shut-down the console and remove the power for a certain amount of time so that everything should be booted "fresh" also, no luck.
The only thing that helped, was to remove the dongle and place it outside.
I hope that this can be investigated so that my system is 100% reliable again.

Could it have just come slightly loose? It may be that it just needed reseating in the hub. There's also a very small chance that the hub port has stopped working. There are green led's next to each port to indicate they are good.
