Hi, Haven't used Tiger Touch for a while and has been upgraded to V6 since i last used it.
Have issues with the preset palettes when patching in the the following fixtures
Mac 250 Entour
Mac 250 Beam
After patching in the entours first and i select all macs, (in a group) and select a colour palette only the entours display the colour, (viewing using the Visualizer as pre patching before fit up), the 250 beams don't change.
If i patch the beams in first, (with preset palettes enabled), select all macs and select a colour palette the colour changes on both the beams and the entours but most of the colours are different, i.e the colours aren't in sync.
As i say its been a while since using the desk but I'm sure when i have used different fixtures in the past the preset colour palettes have matched up or am i living in cloud cuckoo land?
Is it because the entours aren't CYM colour and the beams are?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Simon

I think it's because of the different colour wheels. Essentially, the personalities try to match the preset colour pallettes to some 'standard' (open - red - orange - yellow...), to make it possible what you said. push the button, and everything will be red.
But for such situations, it depends from the order of selection. No matter in which order you patched it, try:
- select a spot, and try the pallettes
- clear, then select an entour and try the pallettes
- clear, select spot, select entour, try
- clear, select entour, select spot...
Additionally, the preset pallettes for the spot involve split colours which are not correctly displayed by the visualiser - you're much better off with trying with real fixtures.
And finally, for such situations with multiple fixtures with fixed colours, I personally find it most useful for either create colour pallettes myself, or, when in a hurry, use the preset pallettes, then move the pallettes to other buttons, and only then patch the next fixture.. Makes you press more buttons, but lets you work more exactly.
Sorry - but the desk can hardly add colours which aren't built-in in the fixture...

I have been unable to reproduce this. If possible can you try this again?
Regarding synchronisation, there may be some confusion from the fact that the preset palette legends are only taken from the first fixture type patched and unfortunately the names don't always match.
Hi
Many thanks for the reply, when you say you can't replicate do you mean that it works fine for you?
Just to clarify what i did, I patched the entours in first then the beams. The colour palettes were labelled for the entours but I did notice that there was more than one palette of the same colour, e.g. 2 buttons for green and blue 104. These were the same colour when activated.
I made a group for all the macs, selected the group, located the fixtures (using red locate button), tried the colour palettes and only the saw the colour change on the entours viewing on the visualizer.
Will try it again, i'll set up a new show, patch them in, will let you know what happens.
Re colour sync, yes it only seems to brings in the legends from whatever fixture is patched first.
Many thanks
Simon

Yes, I mean that when I follow your method I see the preset palettes recall as expected for both types.
It is correct that the Entour has duplicates. Although essentially anything can be created in the personality for the preset palettes there is a reason why this has happened in this case.
Personality Builder has a function called 'Auto-palette'. When this is used it will look at the available attributes and decide which, if any, preset palettes it can create automatically. Where a fixture has colour mixing attributes it creates the 15 colours you see with the 250 Beam. Where a fixture only has a fixed colour wheel it will try to match those colours with those available in the fixed wheel. This is useful in that it does try to maintain a standard colour order across the preset palettes but inevitably some colours aren't possible and the closest match will then end up being a duplicate. Currently the name (and therefore legend) is derived directly from the chosen fixed colour. This is why you get the duplicate names and associated colour.
It's difficult to see a perfect solution to this problem at the moment. Personally I always create my own palettes.

Hi Niclights
Right time for an update!
I started a new show, patched in entours and checked the palettes, worked ok, then patched 250 beams in checked palettes with both fixture type selected and all worked as it should!!
E.g. colours pretty much in sync.
A couple of colours were slightly different but that's to be expected.
The strange thing is that this isn't what happened when i started to patch the first show.
The only difference with the original show is that i patched some dimmers in first and some Showtec active sunstrips after the Mac patching but this has never cause me a problem before!
So i went back to the latest show cleared the patching and groups for the entours and beams and tried re patching them back in.
The patching came in but no preset palettes!
It seems if you clear the preset palettes out for a fixture and try to patch it back in, (ent or beam) it won't restore the preset palettes as they stay empty.
I now don't want to start a new show from scratch as i have some groups, palettes and programing in the desk for the sunstrips and generics.
I will just create my own palettes when i have the fixtures connected.
It's a bit of a shame that if you need to delete patching and palettes for fixtures, and you have programming in for other fixtures etc, you can't just re-patch the removed fixtures and pull those preset palettes back in. Sometimes having those preset palettes to start from is handy when you're short on time or have had a problem.
Anyway many thanks for all your help, it's appreciated.
