Titan Mobile taking extremely long to start

Postby Dan_C » 18 Jun 2012, 11:23

Hello guys,

It's Dan from TServis in Prague. We've got a Titan Mobile that we use in our service shop here for testing fixtures and such. We've had it since Feb. and have it installed on a PC running windows XP SP3.

The problem is simply that Titan takes incredibly long to load up and start. It's not consistent everyday, but it's usually at least 12-15minutes from the time of clicking the Titan icon until the software is functional. Sometimes it's been as long as 30 minutes. Once it's running though, it functions fine.

There's no problem running USB expert... this starts immediately.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software 3 times and the same problem with the slow load times occurs. We have the Titan software running on much slower laptops and on those, Titan seems to load in a matter of 15-30 seconds.

The PC we're using has a 2.67 GHz Intel Celeron processor with 2G of RAM. Nothing fancy, but it works with all of our other software service utilities. We've updated to v4 .NET software as well. We have no virus checker or any other firewall/security running.

Any ideas what we could try to get Titan to load normally?

Thanks for the help,

Dan

Titan Mobile V5 take about 1 min to start on my laptop with the same spec as yours.

As far as I know it needs .NET v3.5 SP1 although I've found no problems if v4.0 is installed at the same time.

If you didn't have the right version I don't think it would start at all.

One for software dept.

It does require .Net 3.5 SP1. You should also make sure that you have run all windows updates including optional ones and defraged you disk drive.
