After updating my tiger touch to v5 with no problems i started the process on my expert&touch wing from a usb memory but i had some issues during the installation. First when i pressed the usb panel reset button after the led of the faders went on and off in the VDU screen it kept saying please wait and started counting. I was patient and i left it going up the numbers it went up to 999 and started from 1 and so on. I stopped and continued the installation i upgraded the usb panels in service tab on usb panel. Afterwards i saw an error on panel 97
so i turned off the console and checked all the usb cables inside but were all fine. Then i restarted the console and the error was gone sand so i installed the fixture library and started testing to see if everything was ok.i only got tan error when tried to open the library from the touch wing button.

Another thing i came up with is that the led on the touch wing buttons doesn't turn on when i store a cue on the macros although i can see them working when the console is booting.
Will it solve the problems if i install v5 from a recovery cd???
Pearl expert titan Version 5 updating problems

The recovery cd worked just fine. All problems solved except from the led on the touch wing. While the console is booting are on but when i store a cue i cant see if it is stored or where there is no indicator. The only that work is the visualizer and the scroll buttons.Does it have to do with any settings in the usb expert console???

i have a similar problem...i tried to update my os on this pearl expert titan. resetting the usb panel went alright wen i went to update the panels something went wrong. DMX 1 and 2 usb drivers failed also the screen panel 1 is labeled screen panel 3 now and wen i reset "preset fader panel 3" in usb expert it resets screen panel 3. i cannot get the right hand side of the console to work....i reverted back to 3.1 thinking it would fix the problem but it still presists. i am going to try a system restore in windows other than that i will try to connect to the internet and update the usb drivers in windows that show yellow caution symbols.
Hi,
I don't recommend you try either of those solutions. I believe this might be a panel software corruption issue, which I understand has been reported by a small number of customers and is under investigation.
If this is the case then as far as I know the fix is to manually reload panel software via a bootloader. This is not particularly difficult but I strongly suggest you contact service immediately for further advice. As always the preferred option is to phone if at all possible. If this is urgent then use the 24hr contact detailed on the website.
Since you mention reverting to 3.1 which is very old now I think it would be useful to check your upgrade path. ie. direct from 3.1 using recovery disk?
As with my previous post in this thread running a recovery disk is always the best way as it guarantees you a clean start. I suggest you run a 5.0 recovery again. Although this might not fix the problem with the panels it will be the right place to begin.

hey thanks for the quick response niclights.
well the console has no windows restore point so that was out of the question anyway...im sure the jungo drivers are corrputed because of the sporatic nature in which the preset fader panel and screen panels are mixed up. so i will restore back to 5.0 via cd which is wat the website suggests for upgrading from 3.1....says nothing bout recovery stick so i am hesitant doing that. so i need to call the customer service number for the USA? Also im sure ill need to wait until monday. unless you have any other ideas on how to get some support i am going to get it back to 5.0 and standby....my tiger touch is getting me through this show but the next one i will definitly need the pearl.

3.1 has no upgrade path from the installer.
While I probably have got the bootloader somewhere I won't have up-to-date panel software and, much more importantly, I can't say for certain this the problem or solution. To resolve this quickly I would call London (or in emergency the UK mobile number). I realise this is not cheap from abroad but it is the fastest way. Alternatively if it is not urgent you can just email service instead.
