Does this actually work?
It seems if I change something in the first cue it does not track through the list. The next cue just retains the original information from when the cue list was first recorded.
So essentially works when cue list first recorded but not if a cue is updated.
Am I missing something?
Cue List Tracking

Hi,
What do you mean a problem with merging? do you mean using a cuelist that was recorded in ver 4.2 and loading it in v5?
I was having a similar problem, wanting to update some cuelists but finding that the next cue reverted back to the origional and I would have to update every cue in the cue list... I thought it may have been a problem with how I recorded the cuelist, maybe not pushing clear between cues?
But I would like to ask, what is the best way to record cuelists with the benifit of tracking? Because I am having some "procedural" difficulties.
e.g. I set up a state for the first cue, hit record, select cue list, select a playback, then record step 1. Now I change all washes to a different colour, and record step 2. but because I didnt press clear, all the info from step 1 is still saved in step 2, so its not going to be very friendly for tracking is it?
The other option then is: set up a state for the first cue, hit record, select cue list, select a playback, then record step 1. Then press clear. Now change all washes to a different colour, and record step 2. so step two only has colour information in it... BUT, you dont get to SEE the change while programming?
So I want to be able to: setup state for first cue, record it as step 1, then without pressing clear, make a few changes and then record step 2, but with only the changes being recorded into the cue... how is this possible?
Then for editing a cuelist later, I want to be able to see the cue I am editing. If using tracking properly, then unfold wont really work since the cue will only have a bit of information in it (and might not have intensity info in it so you cant see the cue). Including a specific cue also doesn't really work for the same reason. So what I usually do is, run the cue list firing every cue in the list until I get to the cue I want, then I make changes, and then record/merge into that cue. Then I'll snap back, then run the cue again to check it, then check the next cue, then make changes and record/merge, then snap back, run the cue to check it... etc. It just seems very long winded and I'd like to know if there is a better way?

I mean the bug is specific to merging data into cues. Replacing works correctly.
To see what you are recording simply create an intensity playback and fire when necessary. I will always do this before anything else when starting a show.
Unfold and how it works with tracking is a problem that has occurred to me. It is something I intend to raise for discussion.
As for best practice regarding cue-list updating and reviewing I will leave for someone else as I rarely use them. Not my style!
