Pearl 2004 Simulator. Windows 7 64bit Crash

Hi,

I have read the various instructions on how to run the simulator in windows 7 - compatibility mode etc. It works fine for a while until seemingly randomly it comes up with an error message like this:

"Instruction 0x2479 not found @ PC=0x286F4, 14"

Any ideas? Does this software just not work on a 64bit OS? Thank you for your time.
