Pearl Expert recall palette problem.

Postby SKD » 12 Sep 2011, 12:06

Hi,
I have some problem's with our console. Maybe there is some of you that can help me.
I'm using af Pearl Expert, with an Touchwing on the side. It's running the latest software.
So here is the problem:

If I’m flashing with 2 memory’s. and while I’m doing that I want to recall a palette with a 5sec. fade times. The console won't react to the recall palette command. But if I stop pressing the flash buttons the recall works fine.

The problem is the same on every palette (colour, position....).

I've have tryed to reinstall the software, and update the drivers without any results.

Hope there is a smart person that knows the answer out there:)

Could it be because it runs on Win XP (multi touch problem)??

If you mean you are flashing by using touch handles at the same time as trying to recall palettes by touch handles then I don't think this can work because the screen is not multi-touch (is nothing to do with XP).

Flashing with hard keys while recalling palette (touch or hard key) works fine.

I can't reproduce the problem here.

It would be useful if you can list all steps to repeat in as much detail as possible (preferably from starting a new show).

Ok let's begin:)
This is for the latest show i did.

1. Turn on the console ;-)

2. Make new show.

3. Patch console: 10 x Martin Mac 700P, 14 x Mac 700W on universe 1. Starting from adress 001. Then 12 x Mac 250W, 16 x Mac 101, 4 x Mac 550 and 18 dimmer channels on Universe 2. Starting from adress 001. Then 12 dimmer channels on Universe 3 starting from adress 001. then 36 dimmer channels on univers 4 starting from adress 001. All 4 outputs was on the onboard dmx outputs.

4. Making fixture groups on the playback wing

5. Making 8 play back's to control the dimmer for the fixture. (1. 700P, 2. 700W, 3. 250W, 4.101, 5.700P+700W+101 od, 6.700P+700W+101 eve, 7 700P+700W od, 8.700P+700W eve) The way I did this was: Selected all fixtures and set them to off. (I know this is an old happit) Turn the intensity to 100% by turning the handel, not the fader. Each fixture group at a time and then just press record cue)

6. Making colour, gobo, beam, position palettes on the touch wing.

7. Make a dimmer shape, with the shape generator. Store it on playback fader 19 in mode 2.

8. Make a P/T cirkel shape in mode 2 on fader 20.

9. Make dimmer intensity on playback 9 and 10.

10. Make dimmer chase on playback 11.

11. make cyan, magenta, yellow, red, gren, blue shape on 6 faders on the upper section off the console.

I think that was pretty much everything i did in the program section.

Doing the show I had playback fader controlling the mac 101 and 250W on 100% And flashing the 2 faders controlling the 700P+700WW od/eve to the beat off the music. While pressing the 2 flash buttens with one hand (note: i did not pres both on the same time, but pressed them on the beat 1. 2. 1. 2. and so on.) I recalled 2 groups, pressed 5 and then a new position. But when i pressed the pallette nothing happend. But if i stopped pressing the flash buttons for a split second while recalling the palet it worked fine.

Thank's for the help so far...
