Hi,
Used to running gigs on pearls (of all flavours), but for a few reasons, I recently decided to take my personal Sapphire 2000 (with the latest/last software - Nov 2005) out on a gig this past weekend.
So I'm programming away, palettes, subs, etc. Come to playback the show, only to realise I couldn't seem to apply a fade time to palettes like I do on a pearl, i.e hit 'focus' type a number (seconds) and then hit said palette.
Having never (knowingly) had to use a pearl running pre 2004 software, I'm guessing palette fade times is another feature only added around the 2004 software time? Or is there another way of doing it that's Sapphire specific that I just couldn't figure out?
Just nice to know for future reference!
Regards, tom

Can't say for sure but some thoughts:
Palette fade has always been there to my knowledge but the way I would always do it is (from 'root' menu) type number followed by palette button.
It is conceivable that it is not working from within the focus menu where the numeric input is waiting to recall a palette by that number.
The 2004 builds brought in Quick Palette, so before that you would have to select fixtures before you could apply a palette, timed or not.

I encountered an old Pearl 2000 at Glastonbury this year which was playing up in the same way. It turned out to be an intermittent fault on the analogue board.
Give Lee or Tom a call in service, as it could be a simple matter of some loose headers that need re-seating.

Used to work at Avo. Freelance now.
Hmm, interesting.. Wouldn't have thought a hardware problem would make things disappear from the software/menu! As I said in my first post, the problem is the option in the menu seems to not there in the first place, NOT that its there but doesn't work when selected.
Thanks John, will give them a shout about it (likely after PLASA now when everyones not to busy!)
Cheers, Tom
