making a color bump/cue-list with white color over a other 1

Postby mark » 16 Jun 2010, 17:59

hello,

i want to make a colorbump of 2 steps where i can use my GO button.

Step 1: The color for the odd group is white, and the color for the even group must go back to the color that i have selected from my palettes (doen't matter which one)

Step2: The even group must be go to color white. and the odd group must go to the color that i have selected from my palettes.

So i can use only one bump over all the colors.
and the color of the bump is than white.

does anyone know of this is possible??

I'm going to assume this is on Titan following your post in the tips and tricks thread.
At the time I assumed you meant you wanted a 'cycling' white effect, but now on re-reading I'm thinking you want the selected lamps to stay permanently bumped in white until you move to the next set?

This is also possible using modified shapes but with the 'reduce' concept, rather than 'subtractive'.

However, it is also possible as standard albeit a bit complicated:

This requires two playbacks set in mode2 and a two step cue-list that auto-loads those playbacks.

Record two cues representing the odd/even lamps in white.
[Edit times] and toggle fade mode until it reads Fade Mode 2 on both playbacks.
Clear the programmer and record a two step cue-list.
[Playback Options]/select this cue-list.
[Autoload] (press [next]/[previous] if not available)
Use the wheels to make sure just cue 1 is selected and press the swop of the first playback.
Now move to the second cue and choose the other playback.
Exit.

Choose a palette, fire the cue-list and hopefully GO should toggle the odd/even lamps to white.

The fader will (by default) master the amount of white.

You can hide the originating playbacks somewhere out of the way if you want, for example on one of the 'virtual' fixture pages.

You can take this further by setting up the cue-list to automatically run the first cue on raising the fader by following my instructions in the tips thread. Similarly you can set it to kill on lowering the fader in the playback options. Finally you could setup a key profile to enable the bump on the grey or blue key so you don't need to worry about having it connected to the wheels.

Note that when you choose a new palette it will initially override this and set all fixtures to that colour. You will have to bump it again to get a white overlay. Theoretically the 'reduce' shape method would avoid this.
