Personality update

If I have a show and I want to update the personality of a light with a modified personality (changed a macro or a htp to a ltp) will that change/ erase the programing for my cues. Most interested in a change in a macro. (ie. lamp on/rest or Lamp off) or will it wipe out the lamp completly?

There are ways to do this in Titan.

In Classic there is a personality update function but AFAIK it only works on range tables. No harm in trying.

Alternatively, you can try a fudge by patching the new version (with exactly the same name) to a spare handle/address. This will cause some of the information of existing fixtures to update. I do not know of that includes macros or not.

I suggest to test either method by altering a macro name slightly so you can see immediately if it has worked or not.
