hello everyone, i have a bit of an emergency with my pearl 2008 console at work.. i work as a lighting op at a nightclub here in dubai, i had saved my avolites show file onto a new usb stick.. i did a wipe of the programming from the system utilities..and when i attempted to reload the show file from the usb disk, it mentioned an error, and as i pressed exit it conducted a wipeall on the board, erasing all patching and pallettes on the board. i had backed up the avocache usb on another usb stick earliar, and attempted to reload from that usb stick... which did not seem to make a difference after the deleting process and copying process..i managed to patch the fixtures back exactly the way they were prior to the incident, abandoned any hopes of reloading the show file, once i finished the patching..and programming the pallets, i started off programming a few of the cues i had done earliar, however as soon as i played back a shape [circle even] the shape appeared to make the movingheads [robe colorspot 575 at] move in a random stutter.. i tried reworking the the size and speed attributes for the shape, with no success..i played back another shape [tilt saw] this time there was no movement on any of the fixtures, again after manipulating the size and speed parameters, no luck..i have a show coming up day after, and dont know how to program any of the cues in without shapes..can some one please help me get the shape files sorted out, if there is a way, or help me rectify the problem??
i would greatly appreciate it..

It sounds like you need to reload SG.DAT (shapefile). Usually a clue is the shape names appear in capital letters.
SG.DAT appears on all standard aps personality disks (not compressed). Download one from the site, extract it to a floppy. Put in the console and go to system/utilities/load shape file. Desk should then find and read it. I recommend performing a soft reset (button on the back) after this.
Hopefully that will get you back up and running.
For the other issues and what got you into this situation I do think you should send a mail to software. Doesn't sound friendly!

it's the same problem I get when trying to load a show from the offline editor onto a 2008, even when using avocopy.
The only thing you can do is start completely over again.
Sometimes, the 2008 writes a file it can't read. That has happened to me twice. (if the console belonged to me, it would have gone back where it came from for that)
