pixelmap ff in keyframe shape?

Postby ArieGroen » 21 Mar 2025, 12:59

Hi all,

I'm using a Pixelmap effect (a block over all fixtures, layer 1 , master enabled) as a color layer.
I created color palettes for Layer Master 1.
This works almost perfect (bit slow on older desks) for bumps etc.
But 1, for some reason, when using in a chase, I have to put the crossfade close to 100% before is works so no snap, while manualy using it in bumps it snaps as supposed ?!?!
and 2, Can you use pixelmap effects, stored in the effect workspace as effect palettes, in keyframe shapes, as you can with other palettes like colors or positions?

So, for example,
frame 1 = group intensity 100% and ff layer opacity 100%
frame 2 = group intensity 100% and ff layer opacity 0%

Unfortunaltely, I cannot get this to work.
Even with all fixtures added in groups which are equal to the spread of the keyframe shape.

Any ideas???

Cheers,
Arie

  1. What you are describing in principle should work and at present I don't have an explanation for why a pixel map in a chase would not run correctly if the cross fade is not at 100% or near to it. A bug has been entered in the system to look into this.
  2. Although you could have a cue that contained both a shape and a pixel map, it is not valid to have pixel maps inside shapes or vice versa. Although you create key frames using the programmer and therefore the programmer itself can run pixel maps, shapes etc. when a key frame shape is running it is just looking at the attribute values that are stored for each key frame and transitioning between them.
