GM Fader... are there different settings??

Postby philpompili » 01 Jul 2006, 16:19

Hi there, I am new to this forum as well as to the Pearl. There are a few functions that I love and there are a few things that I am getting used too... there are also however, a few questions that I would like to ask about the console and its functions that I can not seem to find in the manual... ok here goes...

1. Is there any way for the GM Fader to control only intensity... my problem is thet if I have 2 memories playing back but on different pages, when I lower the GM to blackout and then lift it again, whichever memory was on another page is lost and a new memory is loaded from the page I am on... as you can understand, this gets quite annoying especially when the memory that was just loaded is "fast strobing" when you really wanted "slow blue" or something like that... is there any way to blackout the intesity without accientally loading a new memory??

2. Is there a way to tell the console that when a fader is brought to "0" that the cue inside that memory is released?? For example, lets say on the last fader of my board I memory which tells my MAC 600's to strobe... now the other memories that are active are telling the MAC 600's to be open/red/moving.... when I lift my majic "strobe fader" however, the MAC 600's strobe... up to this point that is great... however, what I want to have happen is when I lower that fader, I would like to release that memory so my MAC 600's stop strobing... currently, when I lower that fader the 600's will continue to strobe and I have to lower and raise another memory to get them to stop...

Any help with these two issues would be greatly appriciated....

Cheers...!!

P.S/ One last thing... can you add "auto Palletes" after a board has already been patched... I am entering a venue with multiple users however they do not use palletes and never used the "auto pallete" feature when origionally patching their board...

Cheers Again!!

1)
no there isn't, best way is to tape over the lower 10% of the MG, so it won't go all the way to 0

2)
"mode 2" memories is the solution.

3)
I don't think so. so make sure you are either there when they patch, or get a patchlist in advance and start preparing in the avo-sim

good luck

To add:

1) Yes, this is a very annoying issue and one I have been trying to get changed for some time.

2) The behaviour is correct as it is for LTP attributes. Mode 2 makes PB fader act as if HTP.

Thank you niclights & CoenCo for your prompt replies... I can't wait to implement these changes and get rid of the frustration that comes from learning a new console!!

Cheers!!
