Hi All,
Not been here for a while. I need a solution for a large auction I am doing in May. I want to be able to call up table spot positions of my heads numerically, instantly and with minimum fuss as I have 170 plus tables to highlight throughout the night. I won't have time to select the right fixture as it could be any spot of 20 in a large venue.
I am thinking I would program a pallette with the coresponding table number and relevant spot and recall it by hitting 'edit pallete' and the table no. then clearing the programmer when I'm done with that table.
This leaves me with a few questions.
1. How many pallettes can you get from a sapphire 2000? I could not find it in the manual (maybe i'm being stupid).
2. I want to keep the auto pallettes as generated but need them to be on higher numbers than 1 to 30 ( over 170). Can I change this in the personality file easily and do I have to assign them to different ADD buttons as well? I would have to so this with all my fixture personalities - not just my spots!
3. each pallete would consist of only one spot - how can I stop the desk using it as a shared pallette and so when I hit 'edit focus' all the spots light up and move to a position?
I hope you understand what I'm getting at. I really don't see me recording 170 memories and playing them back in the usual way.
Thanks in advance.

The following might not be 100% useful as I can only base on Pearl 2004 soft, but in an attempt to help...
There is a limit of 200 palettes. This I'm fairly sure will be the same.
In personalities, the palette information is stored under PFTABLE and should be easy to edit. Personally I wouldn't bother with them though!
There is currently a 'store as shared palette?' option, but I think this might be a recent addition.
Again, more recently there is Quick Palettes which removes the need to select fixtures, but I guess this is not available. Though I am confused why you will use 'edit focus', and not just simply apply the palette.
/Edit: I just had a look back at the P2000 manual re Shared Palettes: If you use [Edit Focus] and then [Store Focus] the palette should be stored only for the individual fixture. There is a separate softbutton to save as shared. Hopefully this is the solution.
I also had a look at the Sapphire Build5 release notes and Quick Palettes was indeed implemented. So you should just be able to enter the table number and hit [enter] to apply, without worrying about selecting fixtures etc.

Thanks for getting back to me.
If the quick palletes are available on the sapphire then i would not need to use edit focus before selecting the table number then. This was the only way I knew to get the right fixture and pallette without selecting the fixture first.
I only really like using the auto palletes because it cuts down the number of things you need to program and label etc. The first thing I do on a patched Pearl is delete all the positions on 21 to 30 ( don't we all?).
It's a shame if I only have 200 pallettes to work with as it doesn't leave me many others to play with. Some of the gig will be a busked band show and it's easier not to have to focus mask the pallettes when busking I reckon. At least the sapphire isn't short of playbacks.
Interesting to hear about the option to not store focus as a shared one. Might have to look out for that. Might have to mug up on quick pallettes too. Am still adjusting to the extras on the Pearl 2004.
Thanks once again.
