Help saving specific fixtures and profiles

Postby FastPhil » 29 Jul 2016, 18:14

I'm sure I'm doing this wrong, and I was hoping to save time and effort on our setups. I would like to save a list of specific fixtures and dimmers so I don't have to peruse the long list of fixtures included - like a 'hot list' of regularly used items. It would be great if it included the personality settings and even the dmx settings. What's the easiest way on the Titan Mobile to save our recurring small list of lights? I would like access to all of the lights we have, about 20 different kinds, without having to program them in the Titan Mobile each time - or at least not having to pick through the massive list offered in the manufacturer/fixture type/fixture list database. Let's say I have: Chauvet Q-Wash 560z, Chauvet Q-Spot 460 LED, Chauvet SlimPar Hex 6, Chauvet Ovation E-190WW, Elektralite Dazer AW, Elektralite Elektrabar and a Leprecon ULD360 dimmer. I want to have easier access to these set fixtures each time I use the Titan. Is it possible, and how?

One option might be to save a show file with the correct DMX settings and all the different types of fixtures already patched. That way you can load that show to get the desired DMX settings and fixtures or you could import the fixtures from it into a new show file. Particularly if you are using import it wouldn't matter if you reference show file contained many more fixtures than you need as you would only need to import the ones for the current show. Another thing to note is that the personality list in the Patch View window is automatically sorted to show the most recently patched fixtures at the top, the search for that list will also check all fields so you can type in just the fixture name to get results (you could also record a macro with this search filter in although I'm not sure how useful that would be).

Mine doesn't seem to be sorting automatically - could you walk me through that one? I'm sure I just don't know where to look. That would probably solve most issues with speedy programming.

Press Patch then softkey G Patch View, then in the workspace window the second tab from the left labelled Personality List.
